We support people with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities and developmental delays to achieve their goals.

Due to growing demand, Daily Living Disability Services have exciting  opportunities available and we would like to hear from enthusiastic Community Access Workers who are experienced in supporting people with a disability. We are looking for people who are passionate, committed and patient.

About You

To be successful in this role as a Community Access Worker:

You will deliver a variety of services to participants to support them to live a fulfilling and meaningful life in the community. You will provide assistance with all aspects of daily living including personal care, domestic activities, social and community participation and varying skill development activities. This is a hands-on role, suitable for active individuals.
Through your work you will demonstrate the following:

 

  • Comfort working with people with a range of disabilities
  • Commitment to family and person centred approaches, supporting inclusion and participation
  • Ability to build and manage friendly relationships within a team environment
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
  • Strong sense of accountability and confidentiality
  • High level competency in areas of complex behaviour management or high/complex medical needs.
  • Availability to work a variety of shift types, including early morning, afternoon, evening, weekends and sleepovers.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

 

  • NDIS workers screening check
  • Current first aid and CPR certificate
  • Certificate 4 in Disability, Community Services or related field
  • Mental health training looked at favourably.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety and You (Online Training)
  • Covid-19 Infection Control Training (Online Training)
  • Experience supporting people living with disabilities and mental illness
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • IT competent
  • Current drivers licence and access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle
  • Essential characteristics:

  • Punctual
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must be experienced in supporting community access.
